How we create a luxury tsarist box with european design
A luxurious, gilded, original, and unique jewelry box with figurines of tsarist double-headed eagles was entirely handcrafted in the Kostylo atelier, following 19th-century goldsmithing traditions.
The gilded jewelry box adorned with imperial eagle figurines was crafted by Kostylo atelier from precisely measured and hand-cut 3 mm thick brass sheets, soldered with silver. After all the elements were silver-soldered, the box was hand-filed, and the flat, smooth surfaces were further refined by hand using sandpaper. The interior of the unique jewelry box was also hand-sanded to remove any excess silver solder.

After this meticulous and challenging filing process, the box was copper-plated and once again hand-smoothed with sandpaper. The next step involved polishing the box to a high gloss, thus preparing the figurative jewelry box for gilding.
Meanwhile, we cast brass figurines of imperial eagles in our Kostylo atelier, which were hand-filed, hand-chased, and polished to a high gloss to be silver-plated in the final stage.
With the copper-plated jewelry box and the hand-chased tsarist eagles ready, we proceeded to assemble the box, precisely drilling holes and threads for the placement of the imperial handle and corner bas-reliefs.
Each luxurious item crafted in our Kostylo atelier bears a hand-engraved logo of our atelier. We always sign our works by hand-engraving our Kostylo logo.
For each of our luxurious works, we also create a custom-made dark green jewelry box by hand, featuring original, hand-crafted and gilded hinges and clasps.
This is the final result: an original tsarist luxurious jewelry box gilded with 23-karat bright Italian gold, adorned with figurines of imperial double-headed eagles.
