Goldsmithing quality: the creation of our luxurious belt buckles

Our luxury trouser and dress straps are meticulously handcrafted. We process, grind, polish, copperplate, and gild them according to the 19th-century craftsmanship principles. Finally, we embellish them with the rare gemstone known as striped flint.
For crafting our luxury trouser straps, we utilize 3mm thick brass sheet, which we cut into the appropriate strap lengths. We also cut the underside of the sheet to form the strap. Subsequently, the cut and dimensioned straps are silver-soldered.

Next, we grind off any excess silver solder from each side, and inside the buckle, we manually file away any remaining silver solder to prepare for the setting of the striped flint.

The next step involves preparing the back part of the buckle for attaching the strap, which we solder and then refine by grinding away any excess silver solder.

The subsequent step is manual grinding and leveling of surfaces in order to copper-plate. After copper-plating, we proceed with sanding using 800-grit sandpaper, followed by polishing in preparation for gilding.
